About Us
Who is S.Y.A Black Empowerment Network?

On December 7, 2024, SYA Black Empowerment Network was born. A Toronto-based nonprofit to advance the Black community, targeting youth, women and seniors. Three strong hands, creative minds and focused individuals believed in one dream and made it happen!
As a community-driven organization, we are committed to advancing the social, economic, and cultural well-being of Black Canadians—particularly youth, women, and seniors. Our mandate remains to empower, connect, and amplify Black voices through workshops on education, mentorship, storytelling, and leadership development.
In June 2025, we celebrated Father’s Day with a Sip and Talk with Black fathers, sharing stories and ideas. In August, we also organized an awareness session on G6PD deficiency, a genetic disorder common among people of African, Mediterranean and Southeast Asian descent. We continue to thrive and look forward to bringing to fruition the exciting events and activities in the pipeline in the coming year and beyond.
